Tyler Union in Anniston, AL is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk. Tyler Union, a division of McWane, Inc. has a century of success in manufacturing and selling ductile iron fittings, joint restraints, and valve boxes for the waterworks industry.  This is a salaried position with an excellent benefits package with health, life, dental, and vision insurance, short-term and long-term disability, vacation, and holiday pay.


Compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.  Position may also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.   • Voucher Accounts Payable invoices on a daily basis.
  • Perform three way matching process verifying that the purchase order, receipt, and invoice information is correct before vouchering.      
  • Calculate/verify invoices have the correct use tax being charged and work with the vendor, etc to correct if needed. Multiple locations throughout the country.
  • Work with purchasing on issues with purchase orders, receipts, vendors, etc.
  • Code invoices to the correct general ledger accounts and cost centers.
  • Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.
  • Perform general office duties such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence.
  • Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Program. Advise management of any deviations from this program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.



  • High school diploma is required.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of related on-the-job experience required.
  • Experience working in a computer-based ERP and data entry preferred.




  • Knowledge/Skills required to perform this job includes clerical, mathematics, customer/personal service, electronics, time management, critical thinking, active listening, and reading comprehension.
  • Abilities required to perform this job include oral comprehension, written comprehension, written expression, oral expression, information ordering, speech recognition, category flexibility, selective attention, and speech clarity.
  • Work activities associated with this position include:
