Tyler Union in Anniston, AL is seeking a highly skilled experienced Maintenance Supervisor to become part of the team.

Directly supervises employees in the Maintenance Department.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Responsibilities

Directs and coordinates activities of employees engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines and equipment, and in the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of the Foundry, or other departments by performing the following duties through assigned personnel.

 

  • Direct team members engaged in maintenance activities related to the foundry such as repairing furnaces, conveyor systems, and molding equipment.
  • Develop and maintain a maintenance team built on expertise, responsibility and accountability.
  • Initiate or suggest programs and procedures that encourage employee advancement within the organization and fosters a sense of urgency and continuing education and development within the maintenance department.
  • Establish team member work schedules based on production and project needs to include completion timelines and budgets.
  • Maintain and enhance preventative maintenance programs to ensure reliable and consistent equipment performance.
  • Solve maintenance related problems by preparing a plan of action and implementing that plan to achieve the desired results.
  • Read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical blueprints and schematics to include trouble shooting and PLC programming.
  • Suggest opportunities for capital expansion or replacement projects that result in increased efficiency, reliability and overall profit.
  • Drive to improve production, increase productivity and reduce costs.
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Other duties may be assigned or directed.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in a technical field or related Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered..
  • A minimum of five (5) years maintenance or work-related experience, on-the-job training, and/or vocational training required. 
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must be available to work any shift.
