Do you have experience driving and fork truck or order picking? 

 

As a Warehouse Associate, you will move products throughout the distribution center using RF technology. Day to day, you can expect heavy utilization of a reach forklift and other forms of warehouse equipment to pick orders, build pallets for shipment, and load and unload trailers and containers to store products in the accurate bin locations. While ensuring all tasks are completed safely, the product count is accurate and verified while maintaining a clean and productive work environment. Great pay ($18.00 per hour + up to 10% bonus potential) and full benefits package available to include health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability insurance, plus 401(k), vacation and personal time.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

 

  • Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Program.  Advise management of any deviations from this program.
  • Load, unload, move, stock, consolidate, put away, stack, and stage products and materials using various forklifts or other power equipment 80% of specified shift.
  • Pick, pull, prepare, verify the correct products for shipment double-checking the exact number and types of products are loaded.
  • Inspect each pallet for proper quantities, items, and lot codes (as applicable) damages and follow any special instructions or additional documentation.
  • Verify load accuracy; check the load count, stability, and product damage, report variances, as necessary.
  • Safely load/unload trailers while maintaining the proper weight distribution, load integrity and constantly following the shipping guidelines and instructions.
  • Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
  • Counts inventory stock during cycle counts and/or physical inventory process. Crosschecks for accuracy while adhering to the product rotation
  • Achieve and maintain expected production performance requirements satisfactorily while maintaining a clean and safe production environment
  • Communicate problems, concerns, and ideas to management.
  • Be proactive in identifying process improvements.
  • Participate in all assigned training programs and adhere to all guidelines.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to process excellence.
  • Willingness to be flexible and able to work overtime with short or no notice.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

  • 2+ years of  Reach truck or forklift operations experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, industrial, or military environment preferred.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • One to three years of related on-the-job experience required.
  • Experience using RF devices.
  • Knowledge of UPS World Ship, Fed Ex ground, or similar software technology

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES and WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Proven experience as order picker or other warehouse position.
  • Able to read and write in English.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Diligent and punctual.
  • Good physical strength and stamina.
  • Use a handheld scanner with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Change equipment battery or LP tank and monitor power source, as necessary.
  • Abilities required include static strength, multi-limb coordination, trunk strength, control precision, manual dexterity, near vision, oral comprehension, stamina, deductive reasoning, and dynamic strength.
  • Work activities include handling and moving objects; identifying objects, actions, and events; controlling machines and processes; operating vehicles, mechanized devices, or equipment; establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships; evaluating information to determine compliance with standards; communicating with supervisors and peers; getting information; and making decisions and solving problems.
  • The physical requirements required to perform this job include moderate lifting/carrying of up to 50 pounds; overhead or above shoulder reaching; bending at the waist occasionally; pushing/pulling a maximum of up to 50 pounds un-wheeled; twisting torso at the waist; use of fingers and both hands; ability to grasp medium with right/left hands; ability to flex/extend right/left hands; ability to do repetitive work with hands; ability to exert medium arm/hand force with right/left hands; ability to wear gloves on right/left hands; ability to use tools with right/left hands; ability to write; maximum standing of one hour per day; maximum sitting of five hours per day; maximum walking of two hours per day; kneeling; squatting; climbing using arms and legs; moving neck forward/back and turning right/left; ability to work in a wide temperature range; ability to work in high humidity; ability to work inside/outside; ability to work with solvents or chemicals, such as casting coating and fuels; ability to work around moving machinery; and ability to operate a crane, truck, forklift, or other moving vehicles.
  • Must wear common protective or safety equipment, such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.
