Operate heavy equipment, such as roll-off trucks and dump trucks, to transport non-hazardous waste products, sand, scrap, and other materials to appropriate points during the production of ductile iron pipe fittings. **** WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCOMODATE A SHIFT PERFERENCE AT THIS TIME - POSITIONS ARE FILLED BASED ON BUSINESS NEEDS, THE MAJORITY OF THE AVAILABLE POSITIONS ARE 2ND SHIFT; however, WE HAVE A FEW ON OTHERS SHIFTS, AS WELL ****

Responsibilities

 

  • Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Management Program. Advise management of any deviations from this program.
  • Safely operate roll-off and dump trucks to transport non-hazardous waste from the facility.
  • Maintain daily task log and inspections on all heavy equipment.
  • Dump daily scrap pans generated during production to main bunker for recycling.
  • Unload process sand from production lines and silos at the three molding units.
  • Transport sand to the sand reclamation system and maintain it full for daily production.
  • Haul manifested non-hazardous waste to landfills as required.
  • Stage, replace, and label twenty (20) yard Cupola dust roll off pans accordingly by procedure.
  • Maintain constant operation of trucks during production.
  • Must be able to operate equipment around tight spaces.
  • Dump waste at Company-owned landfill at proper site locations.
  • Follow all posted speed limits on public roads and within the plant premises.
  • Wear fall protection at all times when climbing on baghouse pans.
  • Be available to operate during any shift, as needed, within DOT guidelines.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

 

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of related on-the-job experience required.
  • Current CDL and up-to-date physical required.

  • Knowledge required to perform this job includes production and processing; and mechanical.

  • The physical requirements to perform this job include but are not limited to moderate lifting/carrying of 20 – 40 pounds; overhead or above shoulder reaching; bending at waist occasionally; push/pull maximum weight of 20 pounds un-wheeled; maximum standing of one hour per day; maximum sitting of three hours per day; maximum walking of three hours per day; climbing using arms and legs; climbing stairs using legs; moving neck forward/back and turning right/left; use of fingers required; use of both hands required; ability to grasp medium with right/left hands; ability to flex/extend right/left hand; ability to exert medium arm/hand force with right/left hand; ability to wear gloves on right/left hand; ability to use tools with right/left hand; ability to write; ability to work in a wide range of temperatures; ability to work in high humidity; ability to work inside/outside; ability to work on slippery, uneven, or unstable surfaces; ability to work around moving machinery; ability to work at unprotected heights; and ability to operate crane, truck, forklift, or other moving vehicles.
  • Must wear common protective or safety equipment, such as seat belts, safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.
