Prepare 3D models and detailed design drawings of equipment, processes, facilities, machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information.
Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Management Program. Advise management of any deviations from this program.
Work directly with project engineers to prepare drawings that detail plans, specifications, and bills of material from sketches, existing drawings, and electronic images.
Prepare engineering drawings based on written and verbal description provided by project engineers.
Generate 2D and 3D layouts and detailed shop drawings for miscellaneous fabrications such as structural steel, platforms, walkways, railings, and other custom plant equipment.
Coordinates fabrication activities to ensure products conform to engineering design and specifications
Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation
Work closely with all departments in the plant to ensure that drawings convey the correct information and are error free.
Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.
Layout and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines. Complete 3D models for new mechanical systems.
Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, layout, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
Check dimensions of materials to be used and ensure dimensional accuracy with the drawing.
Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
Position instructions and comments onto drawings.
Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Engineering Manager.
Associates degree in drafting and design technology or equivalent amount of education and experience.
Five (5) to Eight (8) years of related experience.
Ability to problem solve and manage competing requests in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
Self-directed; ability to multi-task, follow-up, and prioritize to complete assignments on tight deadlines
Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with peers.
Strong focus on design and Auto CAD abilities.
Must be able to take an idea or concept and create the end product in a productive and timely manner.
Demonstrated experience in meeting deadlines with design and drawings is a must.
